JUPITER, FL - The Palm Beach Cardinals (29-21) fall in 10 innings to the Tampa Tarpons (19-31) by a final score of 5-3 on Saturday night at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. With the loss, Palm Beach had their four-game win streak snapped.

After the Cardinals scored first in the first four games of the series, the Tarpons got the scoring started in this ballgame. In the top of the third inning off of Palm Beach starting pitcher Chen-Wei Lin, Roderick Arias would drive in two runs on a two-RBI single to make it 2-0.

The Cardinals would get their first run of the ballgame later in the bottom of the fourth inning off of Tampa starter Gabriel Barbosa. After Trey Paige led off with a walk and Miguel Villarroel hit a one-out single to put runners at the corners, Kade Kretzschmar drove in Paige on an RBI single to make it a 2-1 deficit.

However, Tampa responded in the next half inning. After Daury Arias doubled with one out, Edinson Duran hit an RBI single to make it 3-1 Tarpons. Lin would finish his start by tossing six innings and allowed three earned runs on five hits while striking out seven batters and received a no-decision.

The Cardinals got back on the scoreboard in a big way in the bottom of the seventh inning when Chase Davis led off with a solo home run to right field to bring Palm Beach to within 3-2. It was the third home run of the season for Davis and his first at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.

After Palm Beach got through the top of the ninth inning trailing by one run, Chase Adkison would single with one out and Lizandro Espinoza would pinch-run for him representing the tying run. Davis followed that with a single to put runners at second and third base after Davis stole second base. With Jose Cordoba at the plate, he would hit a ground ball which was bobbled by Tampa shortstop George Lombard Jr. which brought home Espinoza to tie the ballgame at 3-3.

For the second time in the series, it went to extra innings. Luis Gastelum (L, 3-1) would allow an RBI single to Daury Arias and later an RBI single by Roderick Arias to give Tampa a 5-3 lead into the bottom of the 10th inning. For the Cardinals, they would come up empty in the bottom of the 10th inning as Tampa held on for the 5-3 win on Saturday night.

Palm Beach and Tampa will conclude the series on Sunday, June 2nd in the series finale with first pitch scheduled for noon at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
