JUPITER, FL – The Palm Beach Cardinals (59-39, 22-10) completed the comeback against the Bradenton Marauders (41-59, 12-22) by scoring two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to earn the 5-4 victory on Friday night at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.

For the first time in the series, the Marauders scored the first run of the ballgame. With one out, Javier Rivas hit an RBI double to score Enmanuel Terrero to give Bradenton the 1-0 lead.

The Cardinals answered back in the bottom of the third inning off of Bradenton starting pitcher Michael Kennedy. With two outs, Brayden Jobert hit an RBI double to even the ballgame at 1-1.

Sequera ran into trouble in the top of the fourth inning and allowed two more runs to score on back-to-back RBI singles from Miguel Sosa and Solomon Maguire to put the Marauders on top 3-1. Sequera finished his home debut with 3 2/3 innings pitched and three earned runs and earned a no-decision.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, JJ Wetherholt led off with a double and with two outs Bryce Madron hit an RBI single to get the Beach Birds within one run. In the very next inning, Ian Petrutz came up with an RBI single to score Christian Martin, who led off the inning by reaching on a dropped-third strike, and Palm Beach tied the game at 3-3.

For the Cardinals, Luis Gastelum came out of the bullpen in relief of Sequera and provided 3 1/3 shutout innings with two strikeouts. It was a season-high for innings pitched by Gastelum in a game.

The game would settle down until the top of the eighth inning. Nolan Sparks (W, 1-0) was the next arm out of the Palm Beach bullpen and made his Cardinals debut. But with the first batter he faced, Esmerlyn Valdez hit a solo home run, his 16th of the season, to break the tie and give the Marauders the lead again at 4-3.

However, like earlier in the ballgame, the Beach Birds had a response on offense. With no outs and two runners in scoring position, Jose Cordoba hit an RBI single to score Petrutz and tie the game. Three batters later with one out and the bases loaded, Ryan Campos hit an RBI fielder's choice to give the Cardinals their first lead of the game at 5-4.

Henry Gomez (Sv, 8) came in for the save for Palm Beach and held on for redemption as the Cardinals took game four of the series by a final score of 5-4 on Friday night. Gomez is now tied for the league-lead in saves with teammate Zack Showalter.

Wetherholt went 2-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and two runs scored. Petrutz also went 2-for-4 on offense with a run and an RBI. Cordoba now has four RBIs in the series.
