McGuire gave up an unearned run in the fifth, and Parsons shutout the Blue Wahoos for seven innings before giving way to the bullpen. Parsons only allowed two hits, one in the fifth and the other in the seventh after an 18-minute delay due to a lighting issue at Blue Wahoos Stadium. In the end, the Braves won the game 2-0 to take a two games to one series lead.
Mississippi (6-16, 40-52) scored first when
Pensacola (11-12, 51-42) got a runner to third twice, in the fifth and seventh innings, but timely defense and strikeouts kept the Blue Wahoos from scoring.
Parsons earned his first win of the season, allowing only two hits with one walk and eight strikeouts in his seven innings pitched.
