Patriotic Celebration To Benefit Operation Shoebox New Jersey
Bridgewater, New Jersey – The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, have partnered with Operation Shoebox New Jersey for a Patriotic Celebration for the Wednesday, July 3rd game at TD Bank Ballpark. The Patriots take on the Reading Fightin Phils (Philadelphia Phillies) at 7:05 pm.

In addition to one of the biggest fireworks shows of the season, Patriots players and coaches will be wearing special themed stars and stripes jerseys in honor of Independence Day. The jerseys will be auctioned off online, with proceeds benefiting Operation Shoebox New Jersey and the organization’s work to send care packages to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces serving around the world.
The auction will run from 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 3rd to 9:00 pm on Sunday, July 7th.
Operation Shoebox New Jersey will also be the recipient of the July 3rd 50/50 raffle at the ballpark and have a presence at the game to interact with fans.
Founded in February of 2005, Operation Shoebox New Jersey is an all-volunteer grass roots organization dedicated to collecting donated supplies and shipping care packages to U.S. troops overseas. Operation Shoebox New Jersey has shipped more than 200,000 total packages to U.S. military personnel at 800 bases in 70 countries, including those serving in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan and other posts in the Middle East.
