Hayden Wesneski (W, 6-4) got the start for the Patriots and struck out a career-high 10 batters across six innings of two-run ball to earn the win.

Somerset struck first with a two-run home run from Oswaldo Cabrera (20) in the top of the third. The Patriots added four more runs in the fourth on a Mickey Gasper run-scoring fielder’s choice, an Isiah Gilliam stolen base of home and a Brandon Lockridge (8) two-run run home run.

Bowie got a pair of runs back on solo home runs from Kyle Stowers (16) in the fourth and Shayne Fontana (2) in the fifth.
Gilliam (10) added a solo shot in the sixth, while Stowers (17) hit his second homer of the game in the eighth to trade a pair of late runs.
Micky Jasper (L, 0-2) allowed two six runs on six hits over four innings to take the loss.
The Patriots are now 1.5 games up on the Baysox for the second playoff spot in the Double-A Northeast League with 12 games left in the regular season.
Somerset is off on Monday before opening a six-game series against the Hartford Yard Goats on Tuesday. At least the first three games of the series will be played in Hartford, with the hope of the series returning to Somerset for the final three games beginning on Friday, September 10th.
