Patriots To Debut As Zorros de Somerset On April 30
Bridgewater, New Jersey _ The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, will make their debut as the Zorros de Somerset as part of Minor League Baseball’s Copa de la Diversion program on Saturday, April 30.

The Zorros de Somerset will take on the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) using their Copa identity, the Alces de Maine. The game features a postgame fireworks show presented by Celularity.
TD Bank Ballpark will feature traditional Hispanic cuisine from Patriots partner Brisas, a Colombian bakery and restaurant with locations in North Plainfield, Elizabeth, and Englewood.
Kids will be able to create “Spanish Tiles” with the colors of the Zorros de Somerset at an activity table on the main concourse. The artwork will be displayed as part of a mosaic at the end of the season gathered from each Copa game.
The evening’s National Anthem will be performed by Argentinian-American singer/songwriter and global activist Sophia Angelica. Music by Latin artists will be played throughout the game as part of the festivities.
There will also be recognition of the Latin players on the team and information about their home countries. The Zorros de Somerset will be raffling off autographed baseballs by some of the team’s Latin stars during the event.

Zorros de Somerset, Spanish for Somerset Foxes, is a nod to a fox that frequently visited TD Bank Ballpark throughout 2020. The elusive animal was only seen on security camera footage and pictures from afar until it made a grand entrance right before the start of the Patriots press conference announcing the partnership with the Yankees.
"Copa de la Diversión," or "Fun Cup," is a season-long event series specifically designed to embrace the culture and values that resonate most with participating teams' local U.S. Hispanic/Latino communities.

· Friday, May 20th at 6:35 pm vs. Luchadores de Reading (Reading Fightin Phils)
· Sunday, June 26th at 1:05 pm vs. Chivos de Hartford (Hartford Yard Goats)
· Thursday, July 7th at 7:05 pm vs. Cangrejos Fantasmas de Chesapeake (Bowie Baysox)
· Friday, August 26th at 7:05 pm vs. Gatos Feroces de New Hampshire (New Hampshire Fisher Cats)
Each game will include entertainment, music, food, and activities to showcase Latin culture at the ballpark.
