LAKE ELSINORE, CA - Matt Peacock surrendered a run in the bottom of the first inning on a soft groundout to third. And on a night controlled by Rawhide pitching, that was all the Storm would get.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA - Matt Peacock surrendered a run in the bottom of the first inning on a soft groundout to third. And on a night controlled by Rawhide pitching, that was all the Storm would get.

Peacock (W, 3-0) turned in one of the best starts of his young career, tossing six innings while striking out a career-high nine hitters while holding Lake Elsinore to one run on just four hits. Peacock never walked a batter and did not allow a hit over his final two innings of work.
He finished the game with a flourish, striking out a pair in the sixth inning with a fastball that was still touching 92 miles per hour, where it had sat all night.
Peacock wasn't handed a lead until the fourth, but once he got the advantage it was too much for Lake Elsinore (42-46/8-10) to overcome.
With the score tied at one and one out in the frame, Dominic Miroglio hit a single through the right side. Drew Ellis followed with his second double of the game into the right field corner, setting the stage for Renae Martinez.
On the second pitch he saw, Martinez launched his first home run with the Rawhide underneath the videoboard in left to put Visalia (46-42/9-9) on top 4-1, their first lead since Friday night.
After Camden Duzenack reached on an error, Adam Walton and Luis Alejandro Basabe provided back-to-back RBI singles to give Visalia a 6-1 lead.
Though the Rawhide would threaten to score in the sixth, seventh, and ninth innings, they were held without any further production.
Emmanuel Ramirez lasted through five innings and was tagged for all six runs, four of which were earned, on seven hits while walking none and striking out seven. Tonight marked his second loss against Visalia this year.
Martinez paced the Visalia offense with three hits while Ellis added a pair of doubles while scoring two runs. Eight different Rawhide players tallied at least one hit and all nine players in the lineup reached safely.
The Rawhide head home tomorrow to kick off a four-game series against Modesto. RHP Riley Smith (4-4, 3.62) will start for Visalia tomorrow against Nuts LHP Nick Wells (1-2, 13.97). First pitch is at 7 PM and tickets are available on Rawhidebaseball.com.
