MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (May 31, 2018) - Though the Myrtle Beach Pelicans drew within one run in the ninth inning, they could not get over the hump in a 3-2 loss on Thursday night to the Winston-Salem Dash from TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.
With two outs, Connor Myers doubled home pinch-runner Yeiler Peguro from first to cut the deficit to 3-2, but the Pelicans (24-29) could not push across the final run as Matt Foster nailed down his fourth save of the season for the Dash (29-25). The loss snapped the Pelicans four-game winning streak.

Bernardo Flores (4-3) earned the win for Winston-Salem by tossing eight innings and only ceding one run on seven hits while striking out six compared to no walks.
After the Dash plated an unearned run in the second when Zach Remillard scored on a double play, Wladimir Galindo , who finished with two hits for the second straight night, tied the game with an RBI double that drove in Jhonny Pereda in the third inning.
With the score still tied at 1-1 in the fifth, Luis Alexander Basabe ripped a two-run double down the first base line to give the Dash a lead they would not give up.
Bailey Clark (1-2) was handed the loss in his second start of the season. The righty tossed five innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits while striking out a season-high seven and walking one.
Wyatt Short and Jhon Romero both tossed two scoreless innings out of the bullpen for the Pelicans.
