PERAZA’S FIREWORKS PRECEDE THE LIGHT SHOW
WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY (May 14, 2021) – Oswald Peraza saw two pitches and hit two home runs, driving in four to lead the Hudson Valley Renegades to a 9-4 win over the Aberdeen IronBirds on Friday night at Dutchess Stadium.
The Gades were down 2-0 before Oliver Dunn homered in the sixth to tie the game at two. The Birds regained the lead in the top of the seventh before the Gades lit up the night in the bottom of the frame. Isaiah Pasteur drove in James Nelson to cut the deficit to one before Peraza – in his first at-bat of the night – drilled the first pitch he saw to left for a home run. The Renegades led 5-4.
In the eighth, the Gades added four more, with Peraza hitting his second home run of the night. Dunn doubled in the frame for his third RBI of the night.
A light show followed the last out at Dutchess Stadium, as Hudson Valley improves to 5-4 on the season. Nick Ernst earned the five save for the Gades, and Josh Maciejewski (2-0) picked up the win.
