BOX SCORE - Reading 2, Harrisburg 0
The Reading Fightin Phils beat the Harrisburg Senators 2 to 0 on Friday night. The team recorded five hits and slammed the door shut for their first shutout victory of the season.
Brock Stassi notched his second RBI of the season batting in Bryson Stott in the top of the first.
Jack Perkins added another run in the second with his first home run of the season deep to right field to make it 2 to 0.
Perkins (W, 1-0) was stellar in his start going six innings just allowing four hits and no runs across. That records the longest outing for not just Perkins but also the Fightins as well.
Brian Marconi took the ball in relief throwing two innings and letting up two hits.
The call to the bullpen brought in Braden Zarbnisky (S, 1) to close things out in the ninth. He recorded his first save of the season and the Fightins first shutout win.
