Augusta doubled their lead in the top of the eighth when Orlando Garcia hit his first homer of the year to make it 4-2, but the Power were not done.
Leading off the eighth,
GreenJackets starter John Gavin totaled a career-high six innings and punched out a career-best nine batters while only allowing one hit and a walk, but was handed a no-decision.
Augusta opened the scoring in the second inning behind a John Riley two-run shot down the left field line for his second homer of the year to give the GreenJackets an early 2-0 edge.
They were able to extend their lead in the fifth inning after Riley hit a single and advanced to second on a throwing error from West Virginia starter
