With 11 of Philadelphia's Top 30 prospects on the roster, it's only natural that Triple-A Lehigh Valley became the first team in the Minors to win 35 games.
Jorge Alfaro's consistency at and behind the plate ensured it.
MLB.com's No. 65 overall prospect went 3-for-4 with an RBI double, threw out a base stealer and helped the pitching staff carry a shutout into the ninth inning of the IronPIgs' 3-1 victory over Louisville on Monday.
At 35-15 (.700), Lehigh Valley is the winningest team in affiliated baseball.

Gameday box score
Alfaro's batting average has not dipped below .280 this season, and he's compiled a .295/.323/.417 slash line with 11 extra-base hits, 25 RBIs and 20 runs scored in 35 games as a catcher and three as a designated hitter. In addition to posting multiple hits 14 times, the native of Colombia collected at least one RBI in four straight games and drove in 11 runs over his last 10 contests.
Facing left-hander Cody Reed with a runner on and one out in the first inning, the 23-year-old battled to a 2-2 count before lining a two-bagger deep into center field to get the IronPigs on the board.

In the fifth, Alfaro was in an 0-2 hole when he pulled the third offering through the left side for a hit. Two innings later, he drilled Reed's first pitch back up the middle for another single.
He earned his 19th assist behind the plate and threw out his seventh of 20 base stealers by nailing Hernan Iribarren for the second out of the first.

Nick Williams, Philadelphia's No. 4 prospect, brought a three-game homer streak into Monday's game, but went 0-for-1 after entering the game as a defensive replacement in the seventh. Dylan Cozens, ranked No. 9 in the system, was 2-for-4 in his third consecutive multi-hit game and drove in a run.

No. 19 Mark Appel (3-2) allowed two hits and two walks while striking out two in five innings.
Pedro Beato picked up his International League-leading 15th save despite giving up a run on a pair of hits over two innings.
