The Pigs bats awoke for eight runs on 13 hits in the Pigs league-leading 12th shutout victory of the season.
Pigs starter Tom Eshelman was spotted a three-run lead before he even threw a single pitch to give the International League All-Star some run support.
Jorge Alfaro started the nights scoring as he laced an RBI double to center field, scoring Scott KIngery who singled to lead off the game. Cozens then launched a two-run home run to right-center field, plating Alfaro to give the Pigs a 3-0 advantage before Eshelman even toed the rubber.
The right-hander tossed seven scoreless innings, issuing just six hits and walked a batter fanning four while picking up his seventh win as an IronPig.
The score remained 3-0 until the top of the fifth inning when Crawford launched the first of two, two-run homers, plating Kingery to spot the Pigs and Eshelman a secure 5-0 lead.
In his first career Triple-A game, Herlis Rodriguez plated Rhys Hoskins on a RBI single to left, but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double, thought the Pigs took a 6-0 lead.
In the top of the eighth inning, Crawford added on to his stellar performance launching yet another two-run home run, plating Eshelman who singled earlier in the inning to give the Pigs an 8-0 lead.
Jesen Therrien then came on in the eighth inning to spell Eshelman. Emanuel Burris singled off the first pitch he saw from Therrien to give the Chiefs a base runner to lead off the inning. Andrew Stevenson then singled to give the Chiefs runners at first and third with no outs until Therrien struck out Irving Falu and Neftali Soto. Therrien then issued a walk to Alejandro De Aza to load the bases for Spencer Kieboom. Kieboom then bounced into a force out to retire the side and keep the shutout intact.
Edubray Ramos then came on to pitch the ninth inning and issued a leadoff double to Caleb Ramsey and then walked Ryan Jackson. Stephen Perez then had what seemed to be the shutout ending RBI single up the middle, however Kingery made a diving grab in the hole and jumped up and fired to first to notch the first out of the inning keeping the shutout intact. Clint Robinson then popped out to Pedro Florimón before Andrew Stevenson flied out to Andrew Pullin to end the game.
The Pigs continue their three-game series with the Chiefs Wednesday night at NBT Bank Stadium. The IronPigs will send right-hander Mark Appel (5-4, 4.87) and the Chiefs will send right-hander Jacob Turner (0-0, 2.61). First pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
