Pigs Travel To First Place Buffalo For Three-Game Set

The IronPigs (14-12) begin a quick three-game road trip to Buffalo, NY to take on the Buffalo Bisons beginning with game one of the series tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Coca-Cola Field.

Last season the Pigs took their first season series over the Bisons since 2011, winning 10 of the 17 games played between the Northern Division rivals. So far this season, Buffalo (15-9) is in first place in the I.L.'s North Division, but with a series sweep the Pigs can take over first place in division.
RHP Ricardo Pinto (2-2, 3.14) gets start for the Pigs and the Bisons will send RHP Mike Bolsinger (1-1, 1.46). RHP Ricardo Pinto makes his sixth start of the season and has won two out of his last three starts, however he faltered in his last start on April 30 against the Mud Hens at Fifth Third Field. The Gucara, Venezuela native tossed five innings surrendering four runs on four hits in the Pigs 6-4 loss to the Mud Hens.
RHP Mike Bolsinger makes his fifth start of the season for the Bisons. In his last outing on April 27 against Norfolk, the McKinney, TX native tossed five innings and did not allow a run on three hits while striking out six in the Bisons 3-0 victory over the Tides.
The IronPigs plated two runs in the sixth inning in route to their 5-3 win Thursday afternoon before 10,100 fans, it is the first max capacity sell out at Coca-Cola Park this season and the 166th max capacity sellout in park history.
With the scored tied at 3 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Pigs plated two to take a 5-3 victory over the RailRiders.
J.P. Crawford walked to lead off the frame before being plated on a Dylan Cozens RBI single to put the Pigs up 4-3. Nick Williams then plated Jorge Alfaro who reached on a fielder's choice to give the Pigs an insurance run.
In a back-and-forth game between the division rivals, the IronPigs and RailRiders swapped the lead four times before the Pigs two-run sixth was too much for the RailRiders to overcome.
Logan Moore launched his second home run of the season in the fifth to tie the game at 3, as the catcher led off the fifth inning with a solo shot to right.
Pigs starter Ben Lively tossed five innings and surrendered three runs on seven hits while fanning five, but did not factor into the decision.
Switch-handed pitcher Pat Venditte came on to pitch a scoreless sixth and seventh innings for the Pigs, increasing his scoreless innings streak to 13 innings tying the season-high mark with Nick Pivetta. Venditte did not allow a hit and walked two batters while picking up his first victory of the year.
