Bucs' Meadows, Bell hit in spring swan song

Top Pittsburgh prospect Austin Meadows, assigned to Minor League camp on Monday, got in one last big league exhibition game on Saturday and took advantage of the opportunity. In front of a crowd of 52,202 at Montreal's Olympic Stadium, the 21-year-old outfielder went 1-for-2 to raise his Spring Training average to .333 (15-for-45). No. 27 overall prospect Josh Bell, who's on the Pirates' Opening Day roster, was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Top Bucs pitching prospect Tyler Glasnow, working in relief after being named the club's fifth starter, gave up three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five over three innings. Fifth-ranked Blue Jays prospect Rowdy Tellez homered in his lone plate appearance.

Reds 5, Reds Futures 1 (Box)
Playing at Fifth Third Field, where he spent part of last season with Class A Dayton, top Reds prospect Nick Senzel laced two hits for the Futures squad, as did third baseman Brantley Bell. No. 2 Reds prospect Amir Garrett got the ball for the big club and turned in three scoreless innings, scattering three hits and striking out three.
Red Sox 4, Nationals 4 (Box)
Top overall prospect Andrew Benintendi, who'll start the season in the Fenway Park outfield, went 2-for-2 with a double and a walk. Over 21 Spring Training games, the University of Arkansas product was 21-for-61 (.344) with three homers, seven doubles and a triple. He walked nine times and struck out 10.
Mariners 1, Rockies 1 (Box)
Antonio Senzatela, the Rockies' No. 9 prospect, allowed one hit and struck out a pair over two scoreless innings in his final spring tuneup. Senzatela is projected to make Colorado's rotation and start against the Brewers on Friday. Mariners No. 4 prospect Mitch Haniger was hitless in two at-bats.
Giants 6, Oakland 3 (Box)
In his final Cactus League start, Giants top prospect Tyler Beede allowed two runs on five hits and struck out five over four innings. The 23-year-old right-hander pitched to a 2.03 ERA in 14 1/3 innings this spring. No. 2 prospect Christian Arroyo went 0-for-1 with a walk and a run scored for San Francisco.
