Power offense explodes for 15 hits to snap skid

West Virginia (14-19, 51-48) took its first lead in the bottom of the second inning.
Medrano added a double and another RBI later in the game to cap his four-hit effort. He was one of three Power batters with three hits in the game (Castro and Glendinning).
Glendinning extended West Virginia's lead in the third, bringing in Castro with a two-out RBI single, his first run-scoring knock as a member of the Power.
West Virginia's offense did not stop there, adding two more runs in the fourth. Medrano got the gears turning with a one-out double. Following a fielder's choice and an error that moved Medrano to third,
Two more insurances runs iced the game for West Virginia in the home half of the eighth. Lorenzo began the inning with a single and quickly scored on Watson's roped double to left-center. Medrano tallied his final RBI of the night after he brought in Watson with a base hit.
Those two strikeouts started a streak of 11 straight Asheville batters retired by the Power bullpen to end the game.
The Power continues their three-game series against the Asheville Tourists Saturday evening at Appalachian Power Park, with first pitch set for 6:05 p.m. RHP
