The Pigs turn to Enyel De Los Santos to earn a split in Syracuse. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.

PITCHING MATCHUP


Enyel De Los Santos goes for a share of the IL wins lead against Phillips Valdez. The pitching matchup is presented by Allentown Family Foot Care, which provides the latest in medical and surgical treatments of the entire foot and ankle.
Enyel De Los Santos is making his last start before the All-Star break tonight in Syracuse. The IL All-Star is 8-3 with an IL leading 1.81 ERA. This is De Los Santos' first start against Syracuse this season. Valdez is starting for the Chiefs against De Los Santos. Valdez has appeared in two games this season against the Pigs both out of the pen. Overall, he is 3-4 with a 2.44 ERA in 15 games and eight starts for the Chiefs.


LAST GAME


The IronPigs took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first against starter Brady Dragmire (1-3). Mitch Walding tripled to put the Pigs up 1-0 and Joey Meneses capped off the scoring with an RBI ground out.
The Chiefs took the lead against Jacob Waguespack (0-5) in the bottom of the fifth inning striking for five runs. Tuffy Gosewisch blasted a grand slam to put Syracuse up 4-1. Andrew Stephens continued to have success against the Pigs with a run scoring single to put the Chiefs up 5-1.


HEAD-TO-HEAD


Last night marked the Pigs first loss in four games in Syracuse. They currently lead the season series 5-4 with seven games to go between the two clubs. Lehigh Valley has not lost a season series to the Chiefs since 2013.
Overall against the IL North this season, the Pigs are 35-24. They have a winning record against four of the five teams and are 20-10 at home and 15-14 on the road within the division.


THIS WEEKEND AT COCA-COLA PARK


This weekend the IronPigs will start a three-game set with the Rochester Red Wings. We will be celebrating Tom Petty Tribute Night Friday as well as Harry Potter Night on Saturday. There will be themed firework displays to match each night post game.
