CLEARWATER, FL – Bryson Ware and Raylin Heredia went a combined 4-4 in the final three innings to help the Clearwater Beach Dogs (34-15, 1-1) walk off the Lakeland Flying Tigers (31-18) in a 3-2 victory on Friday night at BayCare Ballpark. The Beach Dogs return as the Threshers on Saturday to take on the Flying Tigers again.

A fielder’s choice allowed a run to score for Lakeland, making it 1-0 Flying Tigers in the top of the fifth. Ware hit a solo blast to left field to tie the game at one in the bottom of the seventh before a rain delay began in the seventh inning.

After the rain delay, play resumed in the top of the eighth, and Lakeland brought a run home on a bases-loaded walk to take a 2-1 lead. Jordan Viars led off with a single off Lakeland reliever Cam Brown to start the home half of the eighth. He moved to third on a single by Heredia and scored on a sacrifice fly from Pierce Bennett that tied the game at two.

Ware sent Eiker Huizi's first pitch in the ninth inning up the middle for a leadoff hit. He moved to second on a walk to Kehden Hettiger. With two outs and two strikes on him, Heredia delivered the game-winning hit, plating Ware from second to seal the walkoff win 3-2.

George Klassen allowed six hits and struck out four in 4.0 shutout innings in a no-decision. Jonh Henriquez allowed one unearned run in 2.0 hitless frames with two walks and one strikeout. Drew Garrett struck out two and walked one in 1.0 scoreless and hitless inning. Saul Teran (3-0) earned the win with one run allowed in 2.0 innings of work, surrendering three walks and striking out one in the victory.
