Rain postpones Shuckers and Barons on Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Saturday's scheduled game between the Biloxi Shuckers and Birmingham Barons at Regions Field has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a Sunday doubleheader beginning at 1:30 pm. The twin bill will feature a pair of seven-inning games, with game two starting approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the regularly scheduled game one.
Saturday's rainout marks the seventh postponement due to rain this season, all of which have occurred since May 3. Sunday's doubleheader will be Biloxi's sixth, having posted an 8-2 record in those contests with four doubleheader sweeps this season. Sunday's twin bill will be their fourth in the last 15 days.
The Shuckers are 4-4 in the second-half and 40-37 overall on the season. They currently lead the six-game series in Birmingham, 2-1.
The Shuckers picked up their 40th victory of the season on Friday and concluded their second straight winning month going 14-12 in June.

The Shuckers return to MGM Park for a patriotic five-game homestand against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, July 4-8. The homestand gets underway with an Independence Day celebration that includes a Post-Game Fireworks Extravaganza featuring 1,000 pounds of explosives and 10 miles of wiring. The series will conclude with Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, July 8 to honor all branches of our military with a pregame ceremony and a full night of patriotism.
