Rangers RHP Tyson Ross to Rehab with Express on Tuesday

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced today that RHP Tyson Ross will make a rehab start with their Triple-A affiliate, the Round Rock Express, on Tuesday, May 23 against the Las Vegas 51s. He is expected to throw five innings/75 pitches. First pitch at Dell Diamond is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
Ross, who signed with Texas as a free agent on January 19, started on Opening Day for the San Diego Padres in 2016 but missed the remainder of the season with right shoulder soreness that ultimately resulted in surgery to relieve Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. His start on Tuesday will be his first game action since April 4, 2016.
The Berkeley, California native spent the last four seasons with San Diego, going 26-35 with a 3.07 ERA (176 ER/516.2 IP) in 100 games, including 80 starts, with the team. He spent parts of three seasons with the Oakland Athletics from 2010-2012. Ross owns a career 32-53 record at the major league level with a 3.64 ERA (271 ER/670.2 IP).
The Express continue an eight-game homestand tomorrow with a 1:05 p.m. first pitch.
