Fresno, California (Saturday, August 10) - The Memphis Redbirds (53-65) vanquished the Fresno Grizzlies (54-64) 12-3 Saturday night from Chukchansi Park. Memphis had 14 hits with five of them leaving the yard. On the other side, Fresno poked nine hits with the top four of the lineup notching seven of them. Jake Woodford (7-7) enjoyed the win after six solid innings of work. The righty struck out six. Ben Braymer (0-5) took the loss after four-plus frames.
Harrison Bader highlighted the Redbirds offense with a two-homer evening. The center fielder drove in five runs and scored three times. Randy Arozarena also went deep, his seventh of the season. Arozarena was plated thrice. Adolis García whacked a solo shot in the sixth. He tallied three hits as well. Ramón Urías was the last of the bunch to spank a clout. The second baseman walked twice and had two RBI.
Jake Noll led the Grizzlies charge with a three-hit contest. Noll plated a run after advancing two bases on a wild pitch in the first. Carter Kieboom supplied a pair of RBI, one via a groundout and the other a single. Drew Ward rocketed a solo blast in the second, the other RBI. Ward is batting .317 since his promotion to Triple-A. Yadiel Hernandez was on base three times with two singles and Alec Keller scored once in the defeat.
