Reno, Nev. – After being swept by Tacoma in a three-game series this past weekend, the Reno Aces (14-6, 49-46) will return to Greater Nevada Field to host their Silver State Rival, the Las Vegas Aviators (9-10, 46-48), the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. The six-game series will begin on Tuesday, July 23, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. PT.

Reno has visited Las Vegas twice this season, playing in nine games in which the Aces have taken the advantage with five wins. After the upcoming series, Reno and Las Vegas will face off again for another six-game set at Greater Nevada Field in August.

Notable players on the Aviators roster include INF Drew Lugbauer and INF Max Muncy.

Lugbauer is enjoying his first season in Oakland’s organization, leading his team in home runs (15) and RBI (43). The lefty has been an issue for the Aces, roping four home runs with seven RBI against Reno earlier in the year. He had a stretch where he went 4-for-12 with three home runs and five RBI in the previous series. Lugbauer has slowed things down lately but will look ahead to a chance to get back on track against the Aces pitching.

Muncy, the #7 overall prospect in the Athletics’ system, has been productive in his first season at Triple-A, slashing .288/.389/.541 with nine extra-base hits (three home runs) and 13 RBI in 24 games. He recently returned from the injured list for an oblique injury, going 3-for-7 with a home run and two RBI in two games vs Salt Lake. During a split time with Las Vegas and the ACL Athletics (ROK), the infielder smashed three home runs with seven RBI in July. Reno must contain a red-hot Muncy to succeed in the upcoming series.

Kyle Garlick has mashed against the Aviators this season. In eight games, the power hitter is hitting .303/.361/.606 with five extra-base hits, two home runs, and a team-leading nine RBI. Garlick has enjoyed a solid month of July, as he has roped five home runs with 15 RBI and will look to continue his success against Las Vegas.

The Aviators have not enjoyed hitting against Cristian Mena this season. The right-hander has allowed just two runs across 10 frames in two outings against Las Vegas, walking five and punching out 10. The promising prospect has struggled recently but will look forward to facing a familiar lineup against which he has proven successful.

The Aces will return to Greater Nevada Field on Tuesday, July 23, to host their silver state rivals, the Las Vegas Aviators, the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. PT.
