CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Clearwater Threshers put up eight runs but were outscored by the Bradenton Marauders 19-8 on Tuesday night at BayCare Ballpark.
Despite eight Threshers’ batters having a hit, Clearwater was outhit 14 to 12. Felix Reyes went two-for-three with four RBI and one walk.
The Threshers had a 2-1 lead after the second inning thanks to a Reyes two-run single, but the Marauders put up six runs in the third to shove past the early advantage.
Clearwater chipped away at the lead with home runs from Jared Carr and Kendall Simmons but was unable to catch up to the Marauders.
The two teams play a doubleheader tomorrow consisting of two seven-inning games. LHP Spencer Van Scoyoc is slated to start game 1 for the Threshers against Luis Ortiz. Game 1 first pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. TICKETS
