WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (July 8, 2019) - Frederick third baseman
Reyes paced the Carolina League with a .500 average last week, delivering 11 hits in 22 at-bats. The Dominican Republic native recorded at least two hits in four of his six games, including a three-hit, four-RBI performance against Lynchburg in the nightcap of a doubleheader on Wednesday. Reyes also posted a 1.204 OPS, which was second-best on the circuit last week.
Through 73 games this season, Reyes is hitting .263 with five home runs and 32 RBIs. The 22-year-old has collected the second weekly honor of his Carolina League career, with the first coming in the final week of the 2017 regular season.
Eubanks has transitioned from the bullpen to the rotation with ease, and his two efforts last week were among the best of his career. The former Clemson star posted 11 scoreless innings--five against Winston-Salem on Monday and six at Myrtle Beach on Sunday--and needed just 138 pitches to do so.
Since joining Down East's starting staff at the beginning of June, Eubanks is 4-1 with a 0.87 earned run average in six outings. Overall this season, the Duncan, S.C., native is 8-2 with a 2.17 earned run average. This marks Eubanks' first weekly honor in his professional career.
Reyes and the Keys continue their three-game series at Winston-Salem on Monday at 7 p.m., while Eubanks and the Wood Ducks do the same in Myrtle Beach with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch on Monday.
