DAVENPORT, Iowa -- River Bandits catcher Chuckie Robinson has been named a full-season Midwest League All-Star for the 2017 campaign. The league office announced the All-Star roster Friday. At the time of the announcement, Robinson is hitting .290 in 93 games with a team-leading 28 doubles, 12 home runs and 65 RBI while going a perfect 6-for-6 in stealing bases this season. Defensively, Robinson ranks second among league catchers in caught-stealing percentage with a .456 clip (31 caught, 68 attempts). The full All-Star roster is attached to this release.

The 22-year-old Robinson reached base in 32 consecutive games games from June 21 through August 1, the third-longest on-base streak in the Midwest League this season. Robinson also shares the longest road hitting streak of the season, hitting safely in 22 straight road games from June 16 through August 1.
A native of Danville, Illinois, Robinson has totaled 32 multi-hit games for Quad Cities this season. Robinson was drafted by the Astros in the 21st round of the 2016 draft out of the University of Southern Mississippi, where he was a Conference-USA first team All-Conference and All-Tournament selection his senior year for the Golden Eagles. Robinson has been with the River Bandits since Opening Day, one of three current members of the active roster remaining from the start of the season.
Robinson and the Bandits hold a six-game lead in the Western Division's second-half playoff race. The magic number for Quad Cities to clinch the division is 11 with 17 games remaining in the regular season. Quad Cities begins a seven-game road swing to the state of Wisconsin Friday night in Appleton, Wisconsin to kick off a four-game series with the Timber Rattlers. The Bandits return home next Friday, August 25, to host the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
