RockHounds Shut Down Missions in Game 5
Midland advanced to its fourth straight Texas League Championship Series following a 4-1 win over San Antonio Sunday evening at Wolff Stadium.Following a frustrating loss in Midland Saturday night, the Missions were hoping for a strong start in Game 5. Instead it was the visitors who were early to strike.

Catcher Sean Murphy extended the lead to 3-0 in the second with a one-out, solo homer to right. It was Murphy's second home run of the series. Though his outing did not get off to an ideal start, Nix quickly settled down, retiring his next 12 batters.

Unfortunately, for the Missions, their offensive struggles continued against the RockHounds' bullpen.
Nix (0-1) pitched well in defeat, allowing just three runs (two earned) on four hits and no walks, while striking out five over seven innings.
Midland will face Tulsa in the TLCS beginning Tuesday at Security Bank Ballpark in Midland, TX.
