Rome Gets Fifth Straight Win

Rome took a 1-0 lead in the fifth on Kurt Hoekstra's run scoring single. 

The GreenJackets grabbed the lead in the top of the sixth with two runs thanks to RBI singles by Jacob Heyward and Shawon Dunston Jr. The Braves regained the lead for good in the bottom of the inning with three runs. Jordan Rodgers grounded into a force out to score a run, Drew Lugbauer and Leudys Baez each doubled home runs for the 4-2 score. The Braves added a run in the eighth and Augusta scored a run in the bottom of the ninth for the 5-3 final.   
Troy Conyers (2-0) gets the win for Rome while Augusta's Raffi Vizcaino (3-5) is hit with the loss. Matt Custred earns his second save of the season.
The Braves and GreenJackets play again tomorrow at 7 p.m.
