Round Rock OF Dustin Harris Promoted to Texas

ROUND ROCK, Texas – Welcome to The Show, Dustin! The Texas Rangers announced that the club selected the contract of Round Rock Express OF Dustin Harris on Tuesday afternoon. Harris was active for yesterday’s game against the Oakland Athletics at the Oakland Coliseum.

Harris has spent parts of the last two seasons with the Express including the entirety of 2024. In 131 games this season, he hit .272 (132-486) with 22 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, 53 RBI, 81 runs scored, 61 walks and 123 strikeouts. He was one of just eight players to appear in over 130 games in the Pacific Coast League and his 35 stolen bases are tied for sixth-most in the league.

The lefty bat posted his best month of the season in July when he slashed .367/.433/.506 with a homer, eight doubles, six RBI, 16 runs scored, nine walks and 20 strikeouts in 21 games. He posted five consecutive two-hit games from July 24-28.

In 2023, the Tampa, Florida native was promoted to Round Rock from Double-A Frisco on June 20. Since his promotion to the Express last year, he is second on the club in games played (198) and third in hits (198). Last season, he helped the E-Train earn their first playoff appearance since 2019 while hitting .273 (66-242) with 11 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 31 RBI, 47 runs scored, 40 walks and 63 strikeouts.

The 25-year-old was selected in the 11^th round of the 2019 MLB Draft from St. Petersburg Junior College. He was traded to Texas on September 18, 2020, in a deal that sent Harris and OF Marcus Smith to the Rangers for LHP Mike Minor.
