Summary
The Erie SeaWolves used a three-run fifth inning and a solid start from Matt Manning to down the Akron RubberDucks 5-3 on Tuesday at UMPC Park in Erie in Danny Salazar 's second rehab start of the season for Akron.
Turning Point
After the RubberDucks carried a slim 2-1 lead to the bottom of the fifth, the SeaWolves took the lead for good with a three-run inning. A sacrifice fly from Jose Azocar and an RBI single from Cam Gibson were followed by a bases-loaded walk drawn by Josh Lester, which brought home what ended up being the winning run.

Mound Presence
Indians pitcher Danny Salazar got the start for the RubberDucks in his second double-A rehab appearance and went three innings, allowing one run. Salazar got out of a bases loaded jam in the opening inning, but the second started with a solo home run off the bat of Josh Lester for the game's opening run. Salazar got through the third unscathed and then was replaced by Anderson Polanco in his season debut for Akron. After the RubberDucks took a lead in the top of the fifth, Polanco surrendered a three-spot to the SeaWolves in the bottom half of the frame on four singles and two walks before Yapson Gomez came in with one out and got a crucial double play. Gomez pitched into the eighth, where he was replaced with two on and two out by Robert Broom ; a single from Isaac Paredes brought one of the inherited runners home and gave Erie and insurance run.
Duck Tales
The RubberDuck offense didn't get going until the third when they responded to the Erie solo homer with a run on a Nolan Jones RBI infield single. The Ducks then took the lead in the fifth when Alexis Pantoja and Ernie Clement singles were followed by an RBI base knock from Trenton Brooks . After a one-two-three sixth, Akron again got on the board in the seventh when Nolan Jones had his second RBI of the game and his second home run in two nights when he launched a solo shot to right. Andruw Monasterio and Nellie Rodríguez each hit singles in the eighth, but a double play ended the threat and the RubberDucks went in order in the ninth.
