Turning Point

The Senators took the lead with a four-run third inning. Shortstop Gilbert Lara led off the third inning with a home run off Akron left-hander Adam Scott, tying the game, 1-1. After Scott hit catcher Allan Berríos with a pitch, he was removed from the game. Left-hander Zach Draper allowed a bunt single and walk to load the bases. Senators first baseman Aldrem Corredor hit a go-ahead two-run single to left field. Two batters later, third baseman Jake Alu singled to left field, where Palacios misplayed the ball, allowing another run to score for a 4-1 Harrisburg lead.

Mound Presence

Scott began with two scoreless innings, striking out four batters. He departed after two batters in the third inning and was charged with two earned runs. Draper allowed two more runs in the third inning on four hits, before pitching a 1-2-3 fourth inning. He allowed a single and walk to start the fifth and departed after 2 1/3 innings, eventually charged with four earned runs. Right-hander Kyle Marman allowed two runs on three hits before recording the final two outs of the fifth. Left-hander Jake Miednik allowed a run on two hits in the sixth, before right-hander Nic Enright yielded two runs in two innings.

Duck Tales

After Harrisburg starter Luis Reyes went five innings, allowing home runs to Monasterio and Palacios as the only hits, Akron faced an 8-2 deficit. In the sixth inning against right-hander Jhon Romero, right fielder Steven Kwan extended an eight-game hitting streak with a single and later scored on shortstop Daniel Schneemann’s RBI single. Designated hitter Angel Lopez had his first Double-A RBI on an eighth-inning single against right-hander Frankie Bartow.
