Summary
Akron right-hander Hunter Stanley pitched six innings to earn a 4-2, seven-inning Game 1 win, and RubberDucks left fielder Johnathan Rodríguez homered twice in a 5-2, seven-inning Game 2 victory for a doubleheader sweep of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Delta Dental Stadium Sunday afternoon. The two wins gave RubberDucks manager Rouglas Odor 245 victories with Akron, a franchise record for managerial wins, and gave the club 2,500 wins as a Northeast Ohio franchise (1989-present). The RubberDucks also moved within 1.5 games of first-place Erie in the Southwest Division.

Turning Point
After the RubberDucks took Game 1, they trailed Game 2, 1-0, through three innings. Rodríguez led off the fourth inning with a game-tying home run to right-center field off Fisher Cats right-hander Sem Robberse. With two outs in the inning, third baseman Gabriel Rodríguez doubled to center field, and catcher Mike Amditis lined a go-ahead RBI single to center field for a 2-1 Akron lead.

Mound Presence
In Game 1, Stanley was given a 4-0 lead in the second inning. He allowed single runs in the second and third innings but stranded the tying runs in scoring position in the third. After a leadoff single in the fourth inning, he retired the final nine batters he faced to complete six innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts. Right-hander Davis Sharpe worked around two hits and stranded the tying runs on base when he struck out shortstop Orelvis Martinez to end the game. In Game 2, left-hander Will Dion allowed a first-inning home run to Martinez, but lasted 4 1/3 innings, yielding two runs on one hit and four walks with three strikeouts. Right-hander Mason Hickman got the last two outs of the fifth inning, stranding the tying runs in scoring position with a 4-2 lead. Right-hander Bradley Hanner worked around a walk in two scoreless innings for his fourth save.

In Game 1, Akron scored four in the second inning with catcher’s interference, four hits and a bases-loaded walk to first baseman Joe Naranjo. Right fielder Alexfri Planez hit an RBI single, and catcher Michael Berglund hit a two-run single. In Game 2, Rodríguez added a two-run home run in the fifth, and another run scored on a seventh-inning wild pitch.
