Rumble Ponies Announce Coaching Staff

BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are proud to announce their 2020 coaching staff. First-year manager Lorenzo Bundy will be joined by pitching coach Jonathan Hurst, hitting coach Tony Jaramillo, bench coach Luis Rivera, athletic trainer Kiyoshi Tada, and performance coach Tanner Miracle.
Bundy will take the reins in Binghamton following 10 years with the Dodgers organization. Bundy has over thirty years of professional baseball experience, including stints as the first base coach with the Arizona Diamondbacks and as the third base coach with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also has nearly 15 years of prior minor league managerial experience.
Hurst enters his 15th season as a pitching coach in the New York Mets organization and second with the Rumble Ponies. The South Carolina native prepares for his second season coaching at the Double-A level after spending the last three years with the Columbia Fireflies (Low-A). As a player, the righty pitched 12 seasons professionally, including time in the Major Leagues with the Mets in 1994.
Jaramillo (pronounced "har-uh-MEE-oh") gets set for his second season coaching in the Mets organization. Jaramillo also served as the Rumble Ponies hitting coach in 2019. The native Texan spent the previous three seasons as assistant hitting coach for the Cincinnati Reds. The former infielder played six seasons professionally after signing with the Texas Rangers organization in 1998.
Rivera joins the Rumble Ponies staff after serving as hitting coach in Columbia (Low-A) last year. The 2019 season will be his eleventh in the Mets organization. It is Rivera's second stint in the Southern Tier, as he was the hitting coach in 2014 when the Binghamton squad won the Eastern League Championship.
Tada enters his 12th season of professional baseball and returns for a second season with the Rumble Ponies. He spent 2018 with the St. Lucie Mets (High-A).
Miracle arrives in Binghamton for his first season at the Double-A level and fifth with the Mets organization. He previously was the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the St. Lucie Mets (High-A).
Bundy and the Rumble Ponies kick off the season at NYSEG Stadium on Thursday April 9 against the Akron RubberDucks. The Rumble Ponies are hosting the 2020 Eastern League All-Star Game at NYSEG Stadium presented by Ephesus Lighting on July 15th.
