Hooks starter Misael Tamarez struck out six and did not issue a walk over 5 2/3 innings. The damage against him was a bunt base hit and a Dustin Harris home run.
Tamarez, who has allowed just three earned runs in his last three starts (16.0 IP), exited with his club trailing, 2-1.
Salazar then struck with two out in the seventh, capitalizing on a Jordan Brewer single and Wilyer Abreu walk. His three-run round-tripper to right-center came against Joe Corbett, giving Salazar three home runs and nine RBIs in his last three games.
Chandler Casey picked up the win after retiring all seven batters he faced, striking out four. Derek West notched the save by working around a two-out walk in the ninth.
The Hooks, who pitched a 7-0 shutout on Sunday, have allowed just six hits (five singles) in their last two games.
