(Burlington, IA) - Bees' outfielder John Schuknecht smacked a pair of home runs, driving three runs helping the Burlington Bees (14-25) beat the Clinton LumberKings (16-24), 5-2, on Sunday afternoon at Ashford University Field.

(Burlington, IA) - Bees' outfielder John Schuknecht smacked a pair of home runs, driving three runs helping the Burlington Bees (14-25) beat the Clinton LumberKings (16-24), 5-2, on Sunday afternoon at Ashford University Field.

Clinton scored first for the first time in the series, grabbing a run in the first inning. Bees' starter Joe Gatto found himself in some trouble in the first inning. With runners on second and third and one out, Anthony Jimenez grounded out, scoring Luis Rengifo, giving the LumberKings a 1-0 lead. 
The Bees tied the game in the second inning. John Schuknecht started the inning with a solo home run to left field, his first of the season, tying the game at one. The Bees then took the lead in the third inning. With the bases loaded and one out, John Schuknecht his sacrifice fly to shallow center field, scoring Jahmai Jones, putting the Bees back in front, 2-1.
After Clinton tied it in the bottom of the third inning, Jack Kruger put the Bees back in front with a groundout, scoring Juan Moreno, making the score 3-2. Burlington added to their lead in the sixth inning, thanks to Schuknecht, who homered for the second time, extending the Bees' lead to 4-2. Juan Moreno added an insurance run in the ninth with an infield single as the Bees went on to win the series finale, 5-2.
Bees' reliever Jackson Zarubin (2-0) earned the win while Nick Wells (1-4) was charged with the loss and Blake Smith (1) picked up the save. The Bees are back home on Monday night at 6:30 p.m. when they take on the Kane County Cougars. Erik Manoah Jr. will make the start for the Bees.
