Sea Dogs rally late, beat Trenton 6-5!

Trenton, NJ - Trailing 5-2 after seven innings, the Portland Sea Dogs (6-7) scored four times over the final two innings and beat the Trenton Thunder (7-7), 6-5 on Friday night at Arm & Hammer Park.

Portland's rally started with a pair of walks and an error off losing pitcher Andrew Schwaab (0-2). Luke Tendler nailed a three-run double to tie the game at five. In the ninth, Cole Sturgeon scored the game-winner on a wild pitch with two outs.
Despite allowing two runs in the seventh inning, Trey Ball (1-1) fanned the side in the eighth inning and earned his first career win as a reliever. Trevor Kelley worked around a lead-off single in the ninth to earn his second save of the season.
The Sea Dogs built an early 2-0 lead, scoring in their first two turns against Dillon Tate (ND). Esteban Quiroz delivered an RBI single in the first to plate Josh Tobias (1-for-2). In the second, Sturgeon extended his on-base streak to 13 games with an RBI single.
Trenton would tie the game with runs in the first and second innings. In the sixth, they took a 3-2 lead against Mike Shawaryn on a sacrifice fly by Rashad Crawford. 
Portland has now won five of their last seven games.
The Sea Dogs and Trenton Thunder (Yankees affiliate) continue their three-game series on Saturday afternoon with a 1:00 PM first pitch from Arm & Hammer Park. Lefty Dedgar Jimenez starts for Portland. Will Carter gets the ball for the Thunder.
