After 11 starts, the International League is suiting
The Blue Jays' No. 10 prospect allowed only a solo homer across six innings, striking out five while walking two, as Triple-A Buffalo beat Norfolk, 7-3, on Tuesday at Coca-Cola Field.
"I was just trying to work with [Danny Jansen], my catcher, trying to get ahead of guys," Reid-Foley said. "Sometimes I fell behind and just hoped for the best, and it just worked out tonight. It wasn't really a crazy night. I wouldn't have liked to give up that home run, but it's all good."
Reid-Foley's only mistake came with two outs in the first inning when Orioles No. 10 prospect
"I would say it was mostly just again getting ahead and trusting what Jansen puts down, nothing really crazy," he said of the three-inning roll. "I'm just getting back to how it was in '16 and just really running with what worked."
Gameday box score
Reid-Foley (6-2) had to pitch out of a jam in the fourth when
Reid-Foley retired the last four Tides he faced, threw 59 of 100 pitches for strikes and went at least six innings for the eighth time in 11 starts. He's allowed three earned runs or fewer runs in all but two of those outings.
His adjustments to the Minors' highest level have been straightforward.
"I would say just relying on my defense and throwing strikes," he said. "That's the biggest thing."
Urena drove in two runs and scored another for the Bisons.
"It's definitely something special," Reid-Foley said of his offense. "It's very fun to watch them even if I'm not pitching, watch them go about their days, hit every day. They're young and a very talented team."
Stewart also doubled for Norfolk.
