SeaWolves Win Championship Series Opener Over Patriots in Erie

Erie, Pennsylvania – The Somerset Patriots were defeated 6-5 by the Erie SeaWolves in game one of the Eastern League Championship Series on Saturday night at UPMC Park.
The Patriots struck first in the game with a two-run double by Austin Wells that brought home the game's first two runs in the third inning.
The SeaWolves proceeded to score in the next four innings to take the game's decisive lead.
Parker Meadows opened the barrage with a solo home run in the fourth inning. In the fifth, Gage Workman put Erie up 3-2 with a two-run homer.
The Patriots struck back in the sixth inning with a game-tying single by Jesus Bastidas.
Tyler Hardman then delivered a booming double to the bottom of the center field wall that scored two runs to give the Patriots their second and final lead.

The SeaWolves tied the game in the next half-inning on a bases loaded, two-run single by Workman. They scored the game-winning run in the seventh on a fielding error by Jasson Dominguez.
With Jon Rosoff at first base, Parker Meadows singled up the middle and the ball was mishandled by Dominguez, leading the SeaWolves to a 6-5 lead.
The best of three Eastern League Championship Series will now be decided in Somerset, when the Patriots and SeaWolves play game two at TD Bank Ballpark at 6:35 p.m.
Somerset will need to win the game to keep its season alive. If the Patriots win on Tuesday, the decisive game three of the Championship Series will take place at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday.
