The first inning saw Greensboro take a 1-0 led on a Jarett Rindflesch single to score a run. The Braves tied the contest in the third when Kevin Josephina grounded into a double play to plate a run. The Grasshoppers took a 2-1 advantage in the fourth when Jhonny Santos doubled home a run but Rome regained the lead in the bottom of the inning. With Cristian Pache at first base, Drew Lugbauer (2) launched a missile to left clearing the wall giving Rome the 3-2 lead. The lead was short lived however as Greensboro retook the lead in the fifth on a run scoring double by Walker Olis and a single to plate another run by Micah Brown for the 4-3 score. The see-saw affair continued as Rome bounced right back to reclaim the lead with two runs in the bottom of the inning on Kevin Josephina's RBI triple and Isranel Wilson's double allowing the fifth run to cross the plate. The Braves added four insurance runs in the seventh highlighted by another two run bomb by Lugbauer (3) for the 9-4 final.
Troy Conyers (3-0) earns the win in relief for the Braves and Kolton Mahoney (6-4) gets the loss for Greensboro.
Rome and Greensboro conclude the series and the home stand Sunday at 2 p.m.
