Langford was starting for the second time since his promotion to Frisco (30-29, 61-66). He recorded his first Double-A RBI on a sacrifice fly in the first inning and notched his first Double-A base hit by grounding a ball into center field in the third. He drew a walk in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh.

The Naturals (28-30, 57-70) were held to just two hits on Wednesday. Dane Acker tossed four shutout innings with only two hits allowed for Frisco. Over his last two starts, the right-hander has spanned nine innings without a run allowed.

The Frisco bullpen recorded five hitless innings: two frames from Aidan Anderson (1-3) to earn the win and one inning each by Andy Rodriguez, Michael Brewer and John Matthews.

With the win, Frisco drew one game closer to Amarillo for first place in the second half standings. The Riders are still five games back with 10 contests remaining.

The Riders took the lead in the first inning after Keyber Rodriguez singled to open the frame. He stole second, advanced to third on an error and scored on Langford's sac fly.

Scott Kapers added to the lead in the second with a two-out, two-run single. He grounded a ball off the second base bag and it scored both Aaron Zavala and Chris Seise. Seise picked up an RBI of his own in the sixth inning on a base hit, going 2-for-4 on the night.

Eric Cerantola (0-1) was saddled with the loss, allowing two earned runs over his five-inning start.

The Riders continue the six-game series at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7th from Riders Field. RHP Seth Nordlin (2-5, 5.43 ERA) will pitch for Frisco, countered by Northwest Arkansas' RHP Mason Barnett (1-1, 2.25 ERA).
