MONTGOMERY, Alabama – The Trash Pandas dropped their second consecutive game on Thursday night at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, as heavy rains ended the affair against the Biscuits in the 6th inning.
Sam Bachman got the start for Rocket City but struggled early. Montgomery grabbed a quick lead in the first inning courtesy of a Ronny Simon two-run shot, and put up four more runs in the second inning to take a 6-0 lead.
As they have all season, the Trash Pandas lineup went to work in the fourth inning. Angels top-ranked prospect Logan O’Hoppe drilled a two-run double down the line, Jordyn Adams followed with a two-run triple in the gap, and Aaron Whitefield tied the game at 6-6 on an infield single.
The Biscuits punched back in the bottom of the frame with a Kameron Misner RBI single to take the lead for good. Three more runs would be tacked on in the fifth inning off left-hander Jack Dashwood.
With two outs in the top of the sixth and Whitefield at the plate for Rocket City, torrential rains entered the fray and subsequently would end the contest with five full innings already finished.
The Trash Pandas (76-53, 35-25 second half) continue their series with the Biscuits (65-57, 37-23 second half) on Friday night. First pitch at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium is set for 6:35 p.m. Josh Caray will be on the call for 103.9 FM THE UMP and 730 AM SportsRadio.
