BROOKLYN- The Asheville Tourists fell to the Brooklyn Cyclones on Sunday by a final score of 4-3. Asheville led in the early going, but Brooklyn hit a two-run Home Run to claim a 3-2 lead.
Collin Price led off the top of the ninth inning with a Homer to tie the game; however, the Cyclones hit a walk-off, two-out Home Run of their own in the bottom of the ninth.
Jose Guedez spun his second quality outing with the Tourists this season. The right-hander tossed five innings, struck out six, and allowed only one run. Manuel Urias was effective in his 3.2 innings of work, but two mistakes led to a pair of Brooklyn round-trippers.
The Tourists offense once again had a hard time putting the bat on the ball. Asheville players struck out 18 times in 34 plate appearances; one strikeout shy of their season high. Price led the way with two walks to go along with his Home Run. Tyler Whitaker chipped in two of the Tourists four hits in the game.
After a promising start to the series, the Tourists dropped three-in-a-row to the Cyclones in a little over a 24-hour stretch. Asheville returns home Tuesday night to begin a six-game series with the Rome Emperors.
