The Richmond Flying Squirrels return home for the final series at The Diamond in 2024 against the first-place Akron RubberDucks, Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians, with six games Tuesday through Sunday.

The Flying Squirrels and City of Richmond will host a groundbreaking ceremony for Richmond's new ballpark on Friday, September 6, and all fans are invited join the celebration. The festivities begin with a Groundbreaking Day Fan Fest from 5:00-6:30 p.m. on the front lawn of The Diamond. All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative groundbreaking day baseball card and have the chance to enter and win four tickets to the inaugural home game at the new ballpark. The event will also feature a live DJ, autographs from Flying Squirrels players, swag giveaways, a photo booth, food vendors, yard games and more. The fan festival is open to the public and a game ticket is not required to attend.

The week also includes the final fireworks show of 2024, Cosplay Night, a bobblehead giveaway and more. Fans can purchase tickets online here, by phone at 804-359-3866 or in person at the Flying Squirrels ticket office.

Tuesday, September 3 vs Akron RubberDucks: Theft Prevention Night with Patrick Bailey Bobblehead Giveaway

No stealing when former Flying Squirrel, Patrick Bailey, is around! Celebrate the current San Francisco Giants catcher and 2023 Gold Glove Award finalist with a bobblehead giveaway.

  • The first 1,000 fans ages 15 and older will go home with a Patrick Bailey bobblehead.
  • Veterans or active-duty military members can present their military ID for a complimentary General Admission ticket, courtesy of Goodman Allen Donnelly.
  • It’s also the final Silver Squirrels game of the season. Fans age 55 and older are eligible to join the Silver Squirrels Club presented by OrthoVirginia and receive member benefits including tickets to every Tuesday home game, an exclusive T-shirt and a concession voucher.   • Theft Prevention Night and the Patrick Bailey bobblehead giveaway are presented by Richmond Area Honda Dealers.

The Flying Squirrels are recognizing local RVA businesses for a night of FUNN.

  • Visit with local businesses outside the front gates and on the main concourse.
  • Enjoy $5 glasses of wine and $6 wine slushies from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Wine Cart located on the main concourse across from Gilbane Fan Services.
  • Dogs admitted for FREE in sections 101-103, 201-203 and first base General Admission. Please request a dog-friendly section if accompanied by a pet.
  • RVA Night is presented by Metro Elevator.

Grab your friends and dress up for Cosplay Night at The Diamond!

  • Fans are encouraged to dress up and participate in a cosplay costume contest. The winner of the contest will get a Flying Squirrels prize pack!
  • Fans cosplaying can receive a $5 General Admission ticket at the box office.
  • Teachers, administrators and staff can receive a $5 General Admission ticket by presenting their school ID at the box office or the Flying Squirrels Front Office.
  • Stick around after the game for In-Your-Face Fireworks from up close and inside the fences.
  • Cosplay Night and In-Your-Face Fireworks show are presented by the Office of Elections.

Friday, September 6 vs Akron RubberDucks: Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-Off Night

Las Ardillas Voladoras take flight one last time in 2024 to celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month!

  • RVA Wrestling will perform in the Segra Picnic Zone following the game and fireworks show.
  • Come early to enjoy pregame music and dance performances from The Salsa Guy Richmond.
  • First responders can receive a $5 General Admission ticket by presenting a valid ID at the box office or Flying Squirrels Front Office.
  • College students can receive a $5 General Admission ticket by presenting a valid ID at the box office or Flying Squirrels Front Office.
  • Enjoy the best Happy Hour in RVA! Sip on $2 domestic drafts from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at all lower concession stands, upper concourse beer carts and the Budweiser Thirsty Acorn. $2 Pepsi fountain sodas are also available at the Papa Johns stan on the main concourse.
  • Hispanic Heritage Kick-Off Night is presented by Reynolds Community College.
  • The Flying Squirrels will celebrate Groundbreaking Day with a special Fan Fest from 5:00-6:30 on the front lawn of The Diamond which will feature a special commemorative baseball card giveaway, live DJ, photo booth, player autographs and more.

Saturday, September 7 vs Akron RubberDucks: ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation Night with In-Your-Face Fireworks

Join the Flying Squirrels in saluting the kids from the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation.

  • Swing by The Diamond early to listen to DJ Ron spin some tunes on the main stage.
  • The Flying Squirrels will wear special jerseys, featuring the handprints from kids a part of the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation, which will be auctioned off to benefit the foundation. Fans can bid on jerseys here.
  • Fans can donate directly to the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation here.
  • The final In-Your-Face Fireworks show of 2024 will take place following the game.

Sunday, September 8 vs Akron RubberDucks: Fan Appreciation Day with Rescue: Hi Surf Specialty Jersey

The Flying Squirrels are closing out the 2024 season by celebrating and appreciating all the amazing Squirrels fans in RVA!

  • All fans can receive a raffle ticket upon entering the gate to be entered to win prizes throughout the game.
  • The Flying Squirrels will wear specialty jerseys to celebrate FOX Richmond’s new show, Rescue: Hi Surf. Game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the Richmond YMCA’s 2nd Grade Learn to Swim Program.
  • The first 400 fans of all ages will go home with a Rescue: Hi Surf Sun Kit including a waterproof container, bandages, sunscreen packets, lip balm and more.
  • Members of the Squirrel Tails Kids Club presented by Atlantic Union Bank get in FREE! The Squirrel Tails Kids Club is free to join for children ages 14 and under and includes a General Admission ticket voucher to all Sunday home games. Click here to register.
  • All fans are invited to bring their gloves and play catch on the field from 12:45-1:05 p.m.
  • Kids ages 14 and under can run the bases following the game presented by Richmond Family Magazine. Kids can line up to run the bases outside the Squirrels Nest Team Store at the end of the first-base side of the main concourse. Parents and guardians are allowed to accompany their children onto the field and meet them as they cross home plate.
