Sheaffer's four-hit day leads to sweep of Suns

With the Power (37-33) already up 1-0 in the third, Sheaffer picked up his first RBI knock, as he drove a ball into left field off Tim Cate (4-5) to bring in
Sheaffer struck again in the fifth, following up a Honeyman sacrifice fly with a run-scoring double that sent in Julio again, extending the Power's edge to 5-1. The catcher capped off his four-hit afternoon with a solo home run to left-center in the eighth, putting a bow on West Virginia's offense with their sixth run of the day.
Five Power relievers held the Suns (30-40) at bay over the final four frames. Kyle Hill made his pro debut in the sixth, and, after ceding a leadoff double and a base hit, settled in to retire the side despite conceding a run on Gilbert Lara's double play.
The 60th annual South Atlantic League All-Star Game, presented by Segra, is set for a 7:35 p.m. first pitch on June 18 at Appalachian Power Park. Gates will open at 5 p.m. for the WOWK Tailgate Party, and the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive an All-Star Game-branded tumbler, courtesy of Segra. The Home Run Derby commences at 6 p.m.
