HAGERSTOWN, Md. (June 16, 2019) - David Sheaffer went 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and three RBI to guide the Power to a 6-1 win over the Hagerstown Suns, completing a four-game series sweep Sunday afternoon at Historic Municipal Stadium. West Virginia claimed its seventh victory in a row, tied for their longest winning streak of the season.
With the Power (37-33) already up 1-0 in the third, Sheaffer picked up his first RBI knock, as he drove a ball into left field off Tim Cate (4-5) to bring in Julio Rodriguez. The ball was mishandled by Ricardo Mendez, the left fielder, and rolled all the way to the wall, allowing Bobby Honeyman to motor around from first to make it 3-0 West Virginia.

Sheaffer struck again in the fifth, following up a Honeyman sacrifice fly with a run-scoring double that sent in Julio again, extending the Power's edge to 5-1. The catcher capped off his four-hit afternoon with a solo home run to left-center in the eighth, putting a bow on West Virginia's offense with their sixth run of the day.
Devin Sweet (3-2) shined in his first career Minor League start, hurling five scoreless innings and giving up just two hits.
Five Power relievers held the Suns (30-40) at bay over the final four frames. Kyle Hill made his pro debut in the sixth, and, after ceding a leadoff double and a base hit, settled in to retire the side despite conceding a run on Gilbert Lara's double play. Benjamin Onyshko turned in a scoreless seventh while striking out a pair, while Steven Moyers tossed a hitless eighth and South Atlantic League All-Stars Bryan Pall and Dayeison Arias combined to subdue Hagerstown in the ninth.
