The 25-year-old has appeared in 41 games with the Knights this season and was hitting .292 (47-for-161) with 23

The Charlotte Knights have announced two roster moves for Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

1B/OF Gavin Sheets was recalled by the Chicago White Sox today, his second promotion to Chicago this year. The 25-year-old has appeared in 41 games with the Knights this season and was hitting .292 (47-for-161) with 23 runs scored, eight doubles, seven home runs and 33 RBIs. He is currently tied for seventh in the Triple-A East in RBIs and hits.

Sheets, a member of Chicago’s 40-man roster, entered the 2021 season ranked as the 10th best prospect in the White Sox system by Baseball America. He was originally drafted by Chicago in the second round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft out of Wake Forest University. His dad, Larry, played for the Charlotte O’s in 1980 and 1983.

OF Luis González was optioned by the White Sox and is active for tonight’s game for the Charlotte Knights. González, 25, has appeared in 24 games this season with the Charlotte Knights this season and is hitting .195 (16-for-82) with 13 runs scored, three doubles, three home runs, 11 RBIs and five stolen bases. He has appeared in six game this season with the Chicago White Sox and is hitting .250 (2-for-8) with two runs scored and two doubles. He entered the 2021 season ranked by Baseball America as the ninth-best prospect in the organization.
