FAYETTEVILLE, NC: The Delmarva Shorebirds (23-42) concluded the first half of the regular season with a 4-2 win over the Fayetteville Woodpeckers (29-37).

Delmarva struck first courtesy of their catcher, Cole Urman, who homered to start the third inning, his second-straight game with a home run gave the Shorebirds a 1-0 lead.

The Woodpeckers tied the game with a solo home run from their catcher, Will Bush, in the fifth inning to make it a 1-1 game.

It remained 1-1 into the seventh, but Fayetteville broke the tie and took their first lead with a sacrifice fly by Waner Luciano, scoring Chase Jaworsky from third base to give the Woodpeckers a 2-1 edge.

But Delmarva had an answer in the eighth as an RBI double by Thomas Sosa tied the game at two. Anderson De Los Santos gave the Shorebirds the lead with a run-scoring single as Cole Urman touched home plate. One more run came home on a bases-loaded walk to Aneudis Mordán, giving Delmarva a 4-2 advantage.

He would be tasked with the ninth inning and delivered two more strikeouts to end the game, earning his first save to complete a 4-2 victory for Delmarva in the final game of the first half.
