The loss marked Somerset’s fourth straight game decided by two runs or less and its 10th total of the season decided by three runs or less, out of 14.
RHP Gray Fenter (4.2 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 5 H, 3 BB, 7 K) started for the Patriots and was tagged with the loss.
3B Tyler Hardman (1-for-R, R, SB) scored the Patriots’ only run after singling in the second inning, stealing second base and coming home on a double by Brandon Lockridge.
With his steal of second, Hardman extended the Patriots’ streak of 14 straight games with a stolen base to start the 2023 season.
