PEARL, MS - The Milwaukee Brewers announced the following roster moves on Thursday, prior to tonight's 7:00 pm contest with the Mississippi Braves. INF Tyler Bortnick  has been officially transferred to Biloxi from AAA Colorado Springs and RHP Javi Salas has been placed on the 7-day DL, retroactive to July 10. 
Bortnick, 30, was signed by the Brewers on July 15 to a minor league contract and was assigned to Triple-A Colorado Springs. In three games for the SkySox, Bortnick was 3-for-12 at the plate with four runs and an RBI. Bortnick began the season with the Independent Atlantic League's Somerset Patriots and was named an All-Star while posting a .273 batting average, 25 runs, 59 hits, 10 doubles and 26 RBI in 62 games.

The Mentor, Ohio native spent 2016 in the Detroit Tigers organization, splitting time between High-A Lakeland, Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo. Overall, Bortnick hit .277 with six home runs, 34 RBI and seven stolen bases.
Originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2009, Bortnick was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2012 in a straight-up deal for Major League infielder Ryan Roberts. The Coastal Carolina University product owns a .278 career batting average with 39 home runs, 370 RBI and 197 stolen bases in his eight-year minor league career with Tampa Bay, Arizona, Seattle, Detroit and now Milwaukee organizations.
Biloxi will be the third stop for Bortnick in the Southern League, having played previously in 65 games for the Jackson Generals in 2015 and 95 games for the Montgomery Biscuits in 2012.
Salas, 25, a Coral Gables, FL native and product of the University of Miami is 1-2 with a 5.06 ERA over seven games for the Shuckers this season with six strikeouts and 12 walks. In two seasons for the Shuckers, the 25-year-old is 4-4 with a 5.12 ERA in 20 games and 12 starts. Salas was selected by Milwaukee with their 10th round selection in 2014.

The Shuckers will look to even up their series tonight as Jon Perrin faces off against Tyler Pike. First pitch is at 7:00 pm CT with live coverage beginning at 6:40 pm on Cruisin' WGCM AM-1240/FM-100.9 and the Shuckers Radio Network.
