JACKSON, TN - Just four days after twirling a combined no-hitter against the Tennessee Smokies at MGM Park, the Biloxi Shuckers almost fell victim to another historic night in Jackson, TN on Friday. Jackson starter Frank Duncan took a no-hitter into the ninth inning and staved off another comeback to beat the Shuckers 2-1 and end Biloxi's winning streak at three games.
Duncan (W, 1-1) allowed only two walks and faced the minimum through eight innings before a late ninth-inning rally prompted his exit from the game. It marked the deepest into a game a Shuckers team has gone without a hit in team history.

Biloxi starter Freddy Peralta (L, 1-4) pitched admirably, allowing just a first-inning run on a Michael Perez RBI double over 5.1 innings. The 21-year-old righty struck out seven batters and left trailing 1-0. Peralta now has 68 strikeouts over 47.2 innings pitched for the Shuckers, the most in Double-A baseball since June 25.
Nick Ramirez stranded a runner on base to get out of the sixth, and Luis Ortiz allowed one run over 2.0 innings in his first relief appearance of the year. Kevin Cron's RBI double off Ortiz in the eighth inning gave the Generals a big insurance run that they would need in short order.
In the ninth, Angel Ortega beat out a broken-bat infield single to end Duncan's no-hit bid. Dustin Houle followed with a double to put the tying run in scoring position with no outs, and pinch-hitter Tyrone Taylor 's sacrifice fly scored Ortega and ended Duncan's night. Generals' reliever Joey Krehbiel (S, 2) came on to retire Johnny Davis and Troy Stokes Jr. with Houle at second to end the game.
