Skid Hits Seven Games in 11-6 Loss to the Drive
ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists lost their seventh straight game on Wednesday night, 11-6 to the Greenville Drive. Asheville allowed four Home Runs and a seven-run inning in the loss. It is the most runs the Tourists have given up in an inning all season.

Both teams netted two runs in the first. Greenville hit a pair of solo Home Runs off Asheville’s starter Michael Knorr while the Tourists received back-to-back RBI doubles from Ryan Wrobleski and Collin Price. Knorr settled in to pitch scoreless innings in the second and third before departing.
Carlos Calderon surrendered a two-run Home Run in the top of the fourth but Asheville’s Jacob Melton countered with a two-run Homer of his own to tie the game back up 4-4.
In the fifth, the Tourists brought in Brayan de Paula to pitch and the lefty struggled mightily in his one-third of an inning. De Paula allowed seven runs, walked three, hit a batter, and gave up three hits including a Home Run. Asheville’s Franny Cobos and Max Roberts held Greenville scoreless the rest of the game.
The Tourists received solo Home Runs from Price and Tommy Sacco Jr. in the bottom of the fifth, but the offense was unable to muster any more runs in the final four innings. Freudis Nova finished 3-for-3 while Melton, Price, and Wrobleski all had two hits.
