CORPUS CHRISTI – Backed by 11 hits and stout pitching, Amarillo authored an 11-3 triumph over the Hooks Wednesday night at Whataburger Field.

Tim Tawa, who clubbed a two-run home run on Tuesday, plated a pair with a dinger to left in the fourth on Wednesday to start the scoring. Corpus Christi committed two errors in the fifth, leading to three unearned runs. Nick Dalesandro fueled the rally with a two-out, two-run single into center field.
Amarillo punctuated the evening with a four spot in the eighth. Three markers came on a two-out double off the bat of Leandro Cedeno. Cedeno went deep twice on Tuesday, driving in four runs.
Ross Adolph cracked a lead-off single in the Corpus Christi eighth. Thanks to a double by C.J. Stubbs, Adolph scored via a Quincy Hamilton groundout. It marked the first run for the Hooks in a span of 19 innings.
With two away in the ninth, Shay Whitcomb doubled down the left-field line to extend the game. Three batters later, Stubbs served a two-run knock into shallow left, completing a three-hit day.
